Tales Toolkit

Tales Toolkit is a creative resource designed to help children build their own stories. Using the power of narrative—proven to boost learning, engagement, and memory—children are supported in becoming confident, imaginative storytellers.

All resources include simple, easy-to-recognise symbols for Character, Setting, Problem and Solution, giving children a clear structure that empowers them to independently craft their own magical tales.

Tales Toolkit nurtures a wide range of learning and developmental skills, including language, literacy, social interaction, creativity, confidence, empathy, early writing, problem-solving, maths, and much more.

 In Green Room, children quickly recognise the symbols and love using them to invent simple stories. They create names for their characters, explore what might happen next, and eagerly share their ideas. The approach strengthens listening and attention skills, encourages collaboration, and helps children build on one another’s creativity as they develop rich, imaginative narratives together.

In Blue Room children create Tales Toolkit stories every week within planned sessions. As children's knowledge of stories and storytelling develops, they become more confident to create their own stories and to practice and act out familiar stories within their wider play.
